A Tiger-Tastic Family Day Out!

After the undoubtable success that was The World Inside A Book exhibition, celebrating the works of Julia Donaldson last year, the Z arts centre in Manchester has a brand new immersive experience for your little ones to enjoy in 2020.
The Tiger who came to Tea and the adventures of Mog the Forgetful Cat, is an exhibition crammed full of charm, surprises and imagination, that brings the pages of these much loved Judith Kerr classics to life.

As you arrive, children are invited to listen to an animated reading of The Tiger who came to Tea, complete with a puuuurrrfect surprise waiting for you behind the curtain (Have your tin of Tiger food ready!)

Next, a secret door opens to the world of Mog the forgetful cat - although there’s certainly nothing forgetful about this exhibition. Kiddies can jump straight into the pages and adventures of Mog and explore the themes of her beloved tales: crawl through a giant cat flap, take a cat nap in a huge kitty bed, ride on a big red bus, you can even find yourself inside a TV screen! Every nook and cranny is packed with charm, whimsy and nostalgia.

We visited during the opening weekend, where there was an extra special treat of a tiger tea party - where all the delicious treats described in the book, were laid out for the children to try, before a very special guest made an appearance!

Complete with a fully stocked arts and crafts area, where your little ones can use their imagination to create tiger-tastic crafts, this really was a fun and well paced experience that we loved.

Personally, I would have loved to see a few more interactive Tiger themed sets available for the children to explore (which is more of a testament to how much we love the book really) but make no mistake, this is a magical day out that any little fan of the Mog series will adore.

The exhibition runs until December 2020
